Tasmanian Regional Arts held their annual conference at Parsons Bay Retreat at Tasman Village in September 2011.

"A big thank you for all you have done for us. We have never had such willing, accommodating hosts for a TRA gathering. The members, speakers and guests all had a marvellous time. We think that what you are proposing is wonderful. In a time where bigger is always seen as better and the god of consumerism reigns supreme, it is wonderful to see people working to consume less, share more and enjoy a quality of life that some only dream about. Your dreams and TRA's walk the same road and we thank you for sharing the dream with us" Paul Jenkins, Tasmanian Regional Arts Executive Director.

Our Communal Kitchen is now finished. As well as being the space to hang out and cook it is an excellent venue for cooking classes.

In August 2011 Charlene Angus, from Cheeselinks Victoria, ran a cheesemaking weekend. Feta and Ricotta on the Saturday and Camembert, Marscapone and Quark on the Sunday. There was lots of curiosity, conversations, laughter and delight as the participants learned how easy it is to make cheese at home. Another weekend is being scheduled for November 2011
