Parsons Bay Retreat, located within the Tasman Village, offers a Working Holiday to those who are looking for alternative ways to subsidise their travel, recreation or living costs. A Working Holiday is a method of exchanging work for accommodation. Free shared accommodation, with food supplied, is offered in exchange for 5 hours work, 6 days per week. Many have compared the exchange similar to wwoofing or living on a kibbutz. Working Holiday arrangements are for a minimum of 4 weeks. Some people stay 6+ months. Our place can suit long term stays especially for those who are looking for a quiet place while they are writing, studying remotely/practicing natural therapies etc. We now have a natural therapy/treatment room available for guests and the local community. Each day there are many tasks to be done to keep Parsons Bay Retreat running smoothly. The work itself is sometimes very basic and physical, such as the jobs in housekeeping, food service and gardening. (It is a good way to get or keep fit!). Plus, there is the development of the Tasman Village, creation of food production areas, landscaping, renovating and building. We have up to 14 people (helpers) staying with us at any one time. Their ages have ranged from early 20s to mid 60s and they come from all over the world For more details and enquiries regarding vacancies please contact Lynne Seddon This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
