Creating NEW LIVING SYSTEMS

The TASMAN VILLAGE is creating HOUSE, LAND and 'FOOD' packages suitable for permanent/part time living and holiday accommodation. Owners/investors and holidaymakers have the opportunity to live sustainably in energy efficient homes with a village lifestyle and community shared agriculture.

The TASMAN VILLAGE suits those who are looking for a sound investment or ‘a change of pace', with a more relaxed lifestyle in Nubeena, a quaint holiday and a fishing village located 100kms from Hobart.

The CHANGE OF PACE offered is three fold:

1. A sound investment ECONOMICALLY

2 . A sound investment ENVIRONMENTALLY

3. A sound investment in QUALITY OF LIFE

Different types of dwellings on 46 small sized allotments (strata title) are offered with very little or no grounds maintenance required. Included in the design are large public open areas, dedicated gathering spaces and food producing gardens.  The body corporate maintains the common space. Village occupants have the option of subscribing to the harvest of a variety of organic food produced by the Village Farmer.

Prices are expected to start from $188,000.

The story and plans so far...

WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE GOT

The TASMAN VILLAGE is being created on a 22 acre property which was previously a motel and golf course. The motel has been retained and improved, the golf course no longer exists. The motel complex, Parsons Bay Retreat, which includes 19 units, bar/café, tennis courts, swimming pool, spa, sauna and therapy room is the hub of the Village. The land surrounding the hub is being developed for community living and agriculture.

The property, on elevated undulating land, overlooks Parsons Bay and rolling hills. Water is plentiful with good rainfall, 4 dams, a bore, and natural running creek.

Forty six (46) strata lots of varying sizes surround the hub. The lot sizes suit studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom dwellings. The environmentally friendly house designs of the Village meet the criteria of being affordable and attractive as well as sustainable. The Village community will have full use of the motel facilities with preferential bookings and discounts for the Village Hub Café, Parsons Bay Retreat accommodation, pool membership and therapy treatments.

'Local food for local people' is being made possible by the allocation of areas for market garden, fruit groves, edible streetscapes and animal husbandry.

A Village Farmer engaged by the Body Corporate and using the concept of Community Shared Agriculture will produce weekly boxes of fresh organic produce to members of the community who wish to subscribe.

Prices are expected to start from $188,000 and house designs are due to be released November 2009.

House and land (the 'food' package is optional) will be available for purchase from early 2010.
