The first Tasman Village is located at Nubeena on the Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania.

• The Tasmanian Government has placed a moratorium on the commercial production of GM crops.
• Hormones and antibiotics are not permitted in livestock husbandry.
• Tasmania has a maritime climate with mild temperatures and four distinct seasons.

Nubeena has been selected as it is a seaside town in an idyllic country setting, one hour from Hobart international airport. It offers good existing infrastructure, community services, fertile soils, safe swimming, excellent boating, fishing and surfing.
